1. FORWARDS ROUTINES AND BACKWARD ROUTINES ON POWER BOARD
The jump rope can be turned in five (5) basic ways depending on
the arm position employed. Each arm position has a Japanese name
that is internationally accepted. Only the first five letters in
each of these names is written: the written description of series
of skills (a routine) requires the use of only 5 letters.

- single rotations: J, K, S, C and H.
- double rotation: JJ, JK, SK, SC, JH, etc.
- triple rotation: JJJ, JJK, SKK, JJH, SCJ, etc.
- combined skills (executed in two consecutive jumps): J.K, S.C,
JJ.K,JJ.HH, JJ.KKK, JJJJ.HH, etc.
A routine consists of executing 5 skills in the sequence indicated
by the athlete on the routine sheet. Each individual skill in the
routine must be done 4 times consecutively, each combined skill,
2 times. The routine is done entirely in either the forwards or
the backwards direction. Each skill in the routine is chosen from
the official repertoire and is worth so many points, depending on
its difficulty. As the athlete executes the routine, points are
accumulated until an error is committed.

2. INDIVIDUAL SPEED
The competitor jumps for 60 seconds, alternating feet, as if running
in place.
Each landing with the right foot counts for 1 point.
3. THREE-PERSON SPEED RELAY IN DOUBLE DUTCH ROPES
Two partners stand facing each other, each holding opposite ends
of two ropes. The ropes are turned alternately, the left hand turns
clockwise and the right hand, counter-clockwise. The partner runs
in place, inside the turning ropes. After 1 minute, one of the turners
changes roles with the original jumper. After 2 minutes, the last
original turner similarly gets a turn to jump. The goal is to accumulate
as many jumps as possible during the 3 minute running time.
