UNDERSTANDING THE ARC INC. SCRIPT

Anyone interested in obtaining more information about the ARC Script should consult the following:

1)     The I.N.F. Grade and Routine Manual (with illustrations).

2)     The ARC Inc. ACRONEWS Newsletter article in the Coach's Corner of the October, 1991, No. 3 issue.

GENERAL INFORMATION

 

Single Unders
Double Unders
Triple Unders
Quadruple Unders 
Quintuple Unders
Sextuple Unders 

= One letter only (1 turn of the rope around the body)
= Two letters "glued" together (2 turns of the rope around the body)
= Three letters "glued" together (3 turns of the rope around the body)
= Four letters "glued" together (4 turns of the rope around the body)
= Five letters "glued" together (5 turns of the rope around the body)
= Six letters "glued" together (6 turns of the rope around the body)


COMBINATIONS

A period (.) placed in between letters indicates combination skills.  The number of letters "glued" together on either side (separated by the period) of the period indicates what type of combination skill is to be performed.

= 2 different single unders (see diagrams for arm positions)
= 1 single under and a double under (see diagrams for arm positions)
= 2 different double unders (see diagrams for arm positions)
= 1 triple under and one quadruple under (see diagrams for arm positions)
= 1 quadruple under and one quintuple under (see diagrams for arm positions)

TYPES OF JUMPS

 Terminology

J = JUN (Normal Under)
K = KOH (Criss Cross)
S = SOCK (Sideswing Criss Cross)
C = CONGO (E.B.;. front/back; half back; Gentleman's cross)
H = HIGHMEN (T.S.; behind the back)
